Services We Provide
at Barry Road and Fordgate Medical Centres
General Practitioner Services
At Barry Road and Fordgate Medical Centers we offer a full range of General Practice medical services and can treat most non-hospital medical conditions. We provide medical care for your whole family from new born babies to the elderly and in general there are almost no medical conditions that we can’t help you manage. We like to identify problems early so we recommend annual health checks. An annual health check involves spending time with our nurse and then meeting with your GP. This typically assesses cardiac risk factors, lung function, fasting pathology, diet, depression, weight and pre-diabetes factors amongst others.
Should you require a referral to a specialist, you can be assured that our doctors have an experienced knowledge of the best of all medical services in our surrounding areas and will refer you to the most appropriate person for your health needs.
Additionally we have a treatment room with two registered nurses which enables us to perform a wide range of minor surgical operations.

Repeat Prescriptions & Referrals
The Policy of the Practice is that all repeat prescriptions or specialist referrals require you to consult with your doctor.
Prescription medication and referrals will generally require an appointment for review of the condition being treated as well as an opportunity to deal with other health issues. Medical Care is best provided in person. At an appointment, elements of the history, including medications, can be updated to ensure accurate information is relayed to the specialist and current medical details are up to date.
A consultation is necessary for ALL repeat prescriptions & referrals to enable your doctor to monitor appropriate treatment and ensure regular ongoing assessment.
NO REPEAT PRESCRIPTIONS/MEDICAL CERTIFICATES OR REFERRALS WILL BE GIVEN WITHOUT A CONSULTATION WITH ONE OF OUR DOCTORS.
After Hours Services
After the surgery is closed, our patients can contact National Home Doctor Service on 13 SICK (13 7425) or homedoctor.com.au. Your doctor will receive notification of this visit for your continuation of care.
